1. When to Clean

• Clean solar panels when you notice dirt, bird droppings, or other debris on them, but not too often.

2. Tools Needed

• Soft Brush: A long-handled, soft-bristled brush is ideal to avoid scratching the surface of the panels.

• Water: Use clean Distilled water, ideally from a hose through a pump system and avoid using hard water that may leave mineral deposits.

• Mild Soap - (diluted solar panel cleaner) SolClean (Brand of cleaning agent).

• Squeegee or Soft Cloth: To wipe the surface after rinsing.

• Extension Pole (if necessary): To reach high panels safely.

 

3. Cleaning Process

1. Turn off the system: Always turn off the solar panel system before cleaning.

2. Use the brush: Gently scrub the panels with a soft brush. Avoid using abrasive materials that could scratch the surface.

4. Rinse again: After brushing, rinse the panels thoroughly with clean Distilled water to remove any remaining soap or dirt.

5. Dry (if necessary): Use a soft cloth or squeegee to wipe down any remaining water or streaks.

• Avoid cleaning panels with harsh chemicals or abrasive tools.

• If you’re unsure about cleaning the panels yourself, consider hiring professional services, especially for panels on rooftops or hard-to-reach areas.

• Be cautious of ladders or climbing equipment. Always prioritize safety when accessing panels.
